To celebrate Veterans Day, Ðǿմ«Ã½ (Ðǿմ«Ã½) will host a weeklong event, "Tribute Table: Remembering Our Veterans." Ðǿմ«Ã½'s Student Veterans Alliance (SVA) has reserved the Haddad Conference Room (located in the Robert and Mary Rita Murphy Stump Library) November 11 through November 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to display military-related items.

Items displayed will pertain to student veterans' time in active-duty service and will include uniforms, medals, and badges for the Ðǿմ«Ã½ community to view. Each item will feature a small description, and a student veteran will be manning the table throughout the week to answer questions.

"SVA is looking forward to creating a tribute table on Veterans Day week to celebrate all of the sacrifices that they made during their time as service members. This is a great opportunity for non-military-connected Ðǿմ«Ã½ members and those considering service themselves to see the personal belongings that our student veterans received while serving our country. I cannot wait to see the creative, unique backgrounds that come out of each of our student veterans. It will be a great way to honor them on one of the most important days of the year," said Matthew Maltese, compliance advisor for student veterans.

"As president of SVA, I am looking forward to the tribute table event because it offers a unique opportunity to honor and share the stories behind our military service. It's a chance for everyone to see the uniforms and gear that accompanied us through our journeys and to appreciate the sacrifices made by veterans. I encourage everyone to stop by and connect with our history, as it fosters a deeper understanding and respect for those who have served," added Karely Padilla, SVA president.

In addition to the tribute table, Ðǿմ«Ã½ will also honor veterans with a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11, in the Butler Reception Room from 2 to 3 p.m., featuring guest speaker Javier Martinez from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. All are invited.
